i would find it difficult to separate ian rankin and gerald seymour. they both construct very clever plots and create believable characters that i can often relate to. what are you working on now? i am currently 53,000 words into an as yet un-named novel that deals with the radicalisation of a ‘mister average’ who becomes involved with an extreme left wing, anti-capitalist movement. the hero (or anti-hero) is desperate to discover why his younger brother became involved with this movement and what led to his suicide whilst in prison. the novel traces the slow but steady way that he is gradually drawn into the group. what can you see from the window of the place in which you write?
